Alternative manual troubleshooting steps are given below:
Typically, services are background tasks that start automatically at Windows startup or either with an application software when you open it. Services can be broadly classified in to two categories — Microsoft and Non-Microsoft. Microsoft services can be further divided into System Services and Microsoft Application Software Component Services.
System services and other critical services including services started by your Antivirus and Windows Defender software, are critical component for the functioning of your PC. However, the remaining services that are started to check for new application updates, report log files to software publisher, accumulate user experience information, are really non-essential. It is essential to stop these services in order to deliver best gaming performance.
You have two alternatives:
1. Manually Find & Stop Unneeded Services
I won’t recommend this option for beginners. Unless and until you know what you’re doing with your PC, do not stop any service. Some services are very critical for the smooth functioning of your PC. Stopping such services could lead to serious problems.
With the Search feature in Start Menu, open up Services tool (services.msc).
Stop all unneeded services. To do so, just right click a service, choose Properties and then stop it.
2. Set Extreme Gaming Performance (One-Click Optimization)
Reginout‘s Extreme Gaming feature helped many people who don’t have idea about what’s running in background, which services to stop and which services are really important for them. You don’t need to be a tech savvy to use this tool. A One-Click Optimization is sufficient to boost gaming performance and enjoy uninterrupted FIFA 15 gameplay.
Stay Up-to-Date with Latest Driver Updates
A device driver enables communication between your hardware devices and operating system. Typically, people give a blind eye to downloading vital updates, hence they experience poor gaming performance. Most people install outdated drivers from the Drivers CD that came when they bought their PCs. There are two options — obtain latest driver updates from the device manufacturer website; or choose to download them automatically with Device Manager in Microsoft Windows. The former requires you to specify device model no and other details (operating system, version and type) in order to find supporting drivers online.
Clean Boot your PC
With clean boot you only prevent Non-Microsoft startup programs and load minimal system drivers and essential Windows components. Using System Configuration tool, clean boot your PC. In case of Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8, use the Startup tab in Task Manager to do so.
